Increase from 24 to 30 Hours for DBs and DABs

Due to a law change effective January 1, 2013, Designated Brokers (DBs) and Delegated Associate Brokers (DABs) must take nine hours of Broker Management Clinic (BMC) classes (three specific, individual 3-hour classes), bringing the total number of renewal credit hours required for these licensees to 30 (up from 24).  The ADRE definition of a DB includes a self-employed broker.  A DAB includes an associate broker who reviews and initials documents on behalf of the brokerage.  Broker candidates must also take nine hours of Broker Management Clinic classes before the broker's licensee will be issued.  All other salesperson and associate broker licensees remain at 24 hours of education for each 2-year license period.  For additional information on educational renewal requirments, please click the Renewal Requirements page tab at the left side of this screen.

Broker Management Clinic Requirements

Brokers who must take Broker Management Clinics (BMC) and who did not previously complete a 3-hour Broker Management Clinic (BMC) prior to midnight on December 31, 2012 in the current educational cycle will need 9 hours of Broker Management Clinic classes (3 three-hour classes) from January 1, 2013 forward.  For more information, please go the www.azre.gov web site and view their Frequently Asked Questions page (scroll to the bottom for BMC information and requirements).
